Current Projects

BIOWA has formed a consortium to develop a cellulosic ethanol pilot plant. Currently, the vast majority of ethanol is produced from grain, specifically corn kernels. This process is very efficient, but production will be constrained to 10-15 billion gallons of ethanol. In order to produce volumes necessary to significantly displace oil, cellulose is the preferred feedstock. The consortium has all the necessary companies in order to tackle this wide ranging problem.

BIOWA Capital can place investments in the bioeconomy. Specific targets include ethanol and biodiesel plants, new technologies, and infrastructure. Learn more at www.biowacapital.com.

BIOWA is working with the biodiesel industry to further this growing industry. New technologies can revolutionize the production of biodiesel and lower the cold flow temperature. Plants will be able to hedge their exposure to price fluctuations once biodiesel is traded on public exchanges. Finally, new plants can benefit from BIOWA Business Solutions to ease their start-up process.
